General Meeting Highlights

The 2025 Salmon Derby and banquet are now history. We are happy to report that although it was hot and windy and there were few fish, this was our best Derby yet. We had 69 entries which brought in 16 fish. We sold 3,250 raffle tickets for 43 board items and had 34 Silent Auction items. Dinner was enjoyed by 41 hungry folks. We thank the County and City for their generous donations to our event as well as all of the local (and not so local) community support.

Hatchery Update

The last of our 2025 fish have been released. It’s time to begin the process for 2026! There will be several work party opportunities as we clean up and prepare for the 2026 season of fish. Check out the Volunteer Opportunities below to determine where you can join in the activities.

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Snout Collections are underway. This is one of the most important task for our hatchery. The data collected is essential to our programs. Please visit: Snout Recovery Program for more information about the snout collection process.

    • Volunteers needed to be at the port in shifts Monday thru Sunday. Contact Bill Budd at adelphipainting.bb@gmail.com or at 503-929-3259 to volunteer

    • Training will be provided to all volunteers in identifying the fish and using the wand to scan tags.  Training date and time to follow.

  • Hatchery prep for 2026: There are several projects underway or upcoming as we prepare for 2026. Watch your email for dates and times.

  • Annual Appreciation Dinner coordinator Marianne Farnsworth is looking for assistance in getting this all put together. She can be reached at 209-609-0931 or mante_dean@yahoo.com

  • 2026 Salmon Derby – Seeking volunteers to help make next years Derby even better than 2025. It’s never too early to begin. Donors are already preparing their 2026 budgets, so we need to reach them early! Contact Roger at: (541) 373-7848 to get started.
