A Productive Month
The April 18, 2026 General Meeting highlighted another productive month at Indian Creek Hatchery, including successful fundraising efforts, hatchery improvements, and exciting upcoming community events. Members celebrated the results of the final rummage sale, scholarship selections for local students, and the approval of two important STAC grants supporting hatchery infrastructure upgrades. With Reel Fish Days, fin clipping, and the annual Salmon Derby approaching, volunteers are encouraged to get involved in another busy season supporting Rogue River salmon restoration.

Incubation Room repairs are underway.
Grants: We submitted applications for 2 STAC grants, one for a back-up power system and one for a
new oxygen monitor probe. Both have been awarded!
Volunteer Opportunities
With fish coming in, volunteer help is essential — now is the perfect time to get involved.
Feeding: Auto feeders are in place, but screen cleaning, counting morts and vacuuming is still necessary (see note above regarding the new vacuums) Contact Bruce Blanthorn at 702-499-3721or bdb1037@gmail.com to get on the schedule.

2026 Salmon Derby – Seeking volunteers to help make next years Derby even better than 2025. It’s never too early to begin. Donors are already preparing their 2026 budgets, so we need to reach them early! Contact Roger to get started!
